Stephanie, IFC, OMT, RDH
I am someone who has faced significant challenges with breastfeeding, a journey that tested my resilience, strength, and compassion in the most difficult ways.
From day one as a new mom, I struggled with unexpected difficulties, including latching issues, “low milk supply”, and all around awful breastfeeding sessions. Not once, but with both of our sons. I’m sure the lactation consultants I encountered meant well, but honestly, they only made me feel worse. Add this on top of severe postpartum anxiety, I felt hopeless and inadequate. Why was this thing that is supposed to be natural and so easy, just so damn hard?
My personal journey directly influenced and helped to develop my professional journey. A career that has evolved from pediatric dental hygienist to myofunctional therapist and infant feeding consultant, with an advanced understanding of the development and function of the oral and facial muscles and their habilitation.
Holding a degree in psychology, I bring a comprehensive approach to my practice, integrating emotional support with practical (first hand) solutions. I am committed to continuous learning and applying my diverse skills to support families in achieving their goals for nourishing their children. My personal experience has fueled my passion for helping others navigate their own challenges in a (w)holistic and compassionate way.
BTW, both of my babies breastfeeding journeys abruptly ended after a few weeks of nonstop difficulties. I wish I knew then what I know now. I would be honored to support you, however that looks. All are welcome here.
